You can tell when Kix is angry. He’s a sarcastic and blunt
person when he is. He’ll be moaning to himself whilst treating you if he’s
angry. Telling Rex to basically sit back down and that he’s outranking him
currently, is just an example of him being slightly irritated. He once told
Fives that he would wax his beard off unless he shut up. It takes a lot to
anger him, he’s pretty calm and pretty collect but certain things wind him up.
They include, people that say their fine medically when in actual fact they
aren’t. This man knows when you’re sick, don’t lie to him. He would turn into
the “why the fuck you lyin?” Meme if you lied to him. Only really aggressive.
When people don’t listen to his medical advice. That really annoys him. He once
told Rex he needed a week of bedrest. Only to see him back trying to get on a
mission like three hours later. If that happens you’ll get really sarcy
comments like “oh no Kix nobody listens to you, you know the Medic.” And “I’ll
listen to you Kix, no working for at least a week? Yeah that’s correct Kix”
Rule of thumb, don’t annoy him unless you want a really large needle used the
next time you need blood work. Passive aggressive at his finest.
Kix doesn’t get scared easily. He basically grew up in a constant horror film. Never knowing when anyone was going to jump out at you, or when someone was going to come in with a gory injury, or just living with Hardcase who thinks it’s funny to scare him awake at 2 Am because he was bored. Being scared isn’t something that happens often. However, when he is scared, he’ll chew his lower lip and dig his nails into his palm trying to mask it. Other than that, no fear. It’s got the point where people will jump out on Halloween in masks trying to scare him, the person that does scare him gets 100 credits. Nobody has achieved it to this day. Rex came close one year. He came in to his surgery and said, “I feel a bit sick.” Kix went into slight panic mode, because Rex never admits he’s sick.
Kix when he’s happy is the best. Everyone will make an appointment with him when they know he’s in a good mood… which usually leads to a bad mood after he’s had to pull a few teeth and fix things that should have been dealt with months ago. When he’s happy he’ll tell really bad science jokes and hum songs to himself when working. He’s a positive chap normally but when he’s excessively happy, it’s contagious and it’s possibly the nicest thing in the universe. He gives out compliments and doesn’t get arsey if you admit you’ve not been attending appointments. He’ll even give out sweets when he’s in a good mood. “I know I’ve just had to give you three fillings, but try and brush from now on… have a lollipop!” Kind of business.
When he’s sad you want to give him a hug. He tends to keep himself to himself when he’s had a bad day. If he’s lost a lot of brothers or lost a patient in general you can tell. He’ll be keeping himself busy, either cleaning his already immaculate station or filling in forms. Nobody knows what to do so they tend to leave him alone for a bit. Rex will go see him and give him a pep talk and a rare Rex hug. He’ll relieve him of his duty and tell him to relax for the evening. Fives and Echo won’t leave him and will end up staying close to him. This cheers him up. Echo will put on a documentary and Fives will order a takeaway. It results in Fives, Echo and Rex all on the sofa in the common room watching it and stuffing their faces. Kix isn’t often sad because he’s a good medic, but when he’s sad it makes everyone sad
